Emanuele Giannelli

“I love my work in all its countless aspects: my job allows me to travel, to know, to discover ever more exciting and beautiful places and interact with them"

Emanuele Giannelli was born in Rome in 1962, moving shortly before the age of twenty to Carrara, the capital of marble and its processing, so as to obtain a diploma with top marks from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1984. It was in those years that begins the progressive detachment from classical currents in favor of an increasingly stimulating approach to contemporary sculpture by experimenting with different techniques and materials from resin to terracotta or ceramic up to bronze. For this reason, in the Nineties he traveled both in Europe and in America with indomitable curiosity to be inspired by new languages including post-human, cyber-punk, electronic or industrial music and alternative literature. These experiences will influence his future creations upon his return to Italy so as to develop a very personal and expressive narrative in which the human figure becomes the creator and master of his own destiny, challenging the chaos of contemporaneity.
