Andrea Terenziani
“Terenziani’s paintings seem to come from a distant past. Even if they are present here, in front of us to guarantee a tradition, a shared origin.
We could say that they are addressing us with a shadow of melancholy, but we are still far away”
By Vittorio Sgarbi
Andrea Terenziani, born in Parma in 1965, lives and woks in that city. He started and manages a firm for the processing of resins to be employed in building and furniture manufacture, which has obtained a good position in the market also thanks to the surprising creative and artistic results achieved. After a long and solitary period of painting practice, characterised by experimenting with new techniques and by his intense individual research, in 2001 he began to show his work. Since then he has held several personal shows and participated in many collective exhibitions and art fairs. He has also taken part in cultural events with artists coming from all the world, in which Terenziani's works have earned great success with the public as well as the critics, for the evocative potency of the "urban landscapes" proposed by the artist. His contemporary paintings with their poignant and evocative urban landscapes become the distinctive features of the artist. Freeing us from real and external forms, Terenziani’s works invite us to capture the essence of things. The paintings, the resin sculptures, the experimentation with the materials release an evocative power.
